Morgan Restoration has over a decade’s experience in resurrecting old buildings as well as creating desirable and distinctive contemporary homes. This includes restoring and converting historic buildings forming the centrepiece of the prestigious Laing Homes, Langley Park development in Beckenham, Kent. At this scheme, showcasing the exceptional expertise of Morgan Restoration’s team, is a unique Grade II* chapel. The Morgan Restoration scheme achieved three London Borough of Bromley awards including the ‘Best of Bromley’ award for 1999. Additionally, Langley Park has won the What House? bronze award, in 2002, and silver award in 2000 as well as a Your New Home’s award in 2002, all for the Best Luxury Home category.
One of Morgan Restoration’s most impressive schemes is Baldwyns. This innovative development, completed in 2003, has rescued an elegant Grade II listed Georgian mansion, Baldwyns Mansion Villa, from the English Heritage ‘at risk’ register. Prior to restoration, this historic mansion, once the home of Victorian, Sir Hiram Maxim, inventor of the machine gun and pioneer of flight, was in a serious state of dereliction. Located in Bexley, Kent, it has been ingeniously converted into 14 highly individual contemporary homes, including loft-style duplexes and triplexes and two self-contained houses.
In recognition of Morgan Restoration’s superb quality and customer service, the company won Zurich Insurance Company’s highly competitive ‘Customer First’ award for the South East region 2003.
Morgan Restoration has received various other awards for its contribution to the built environment. In 1997 the company won the Sevenoaks Design award and was nominated for the 2002 Bromley award, for its project at 15 Sundridge Avenue, Bickley, involving the conversion of an Arts and Crafts Victorian villa into 10 homes.
